What we need:
- small square of blue-green card
- very fine fine lace
- knotting hook
- cling film
- black marker pen
- pieces of hair
- scissors
- knotting head
- sticky tape
- small pins nails
First get your Cling film, sticky tape and a pair of scissors. Cut some long strips of tape in preparation for the next step and cut a large square of film big enough to cover the lower half of someone’s face.
Ask you models to hold the Cling film over their mouth and mark out the lips and nostrils and a rough guide to where you want the moustache to be.
Next get the strips of tape and cover all the Cling film around the mouth and chin. And draw your moustache design.
Cut out your pattern. When you start knotting this will go under the lace so you have a pattern to follow that you know fits the models face.
Now you’re ready to start knotting the hair to the lace. Knotting is quite hard it took me a few days to finally get the hang of it but once you do it easy just very time consuming and fiddly. I can’t really explain how you actually do the knots you really need to be shown I watched a YouTube video this helped my quite a lot.
Knotting is hard from beginning, so I made a lot of mistakes, usually doing 1 hair in one hole lace, for me was quite hard to find a pattern lace, but right now getting better. I done it half of the moustache.
